Marie Claire Group and The Guardian Nigeria (www.guardian.ng) are proud to announce the launch of Marie Claire to the Nigerian market. The website marieclaire.ng and the social media channels are live and the maiden digital cover was launched on May 5th with global music icon Yemi Alade.

Marie Claire Nigeria will help to shape the cultural and political landscape for women through its investment in compelling storytelling, and exclusive fusion of inspirational fashion and beauty, channeling resources, and world-class journalism towards championing women’s empowerment. The website will be the go-to platform that inspires, entertains, and educates its readers. Marie Claire Nigeria will be the leading digital magazine for the modern, sophisticated, and intellectual woman who is contemporary with her approach, and active about social and global issues.

Chidera Muoka, Editor-In-Chief of Marie Claire Nigeria, is excited to engage with Nigerian readers, saying, “Marie Claire is a brand dedicated to modern women and reflects their voices. I have always been aware of the injustice and marginalisation the average Nigerian women face, from discriminatory laws to gender stereotypes. Yet, recent socio-political movements in the country show how resilient women are in changing the status quo, by pioneering and championing socio-political movements and the 2023 general elections. I am excited at the opportunity to investigate, contextualise and platform the entire spectrum of stories that affect women today.” Yemi Alade as the maiden cover aligns with the Marie Claire woman, revealing a remarkable artist who is driven by her unwavering passion to use her music and voice to raise awareness of social justice and political activism, hoping to impact society positively.

The Executive Director of The Guardian Nigeria, Toke Alex Ibru, expresses, “In the face of the evolving media landscape, The Guardian Nigeria has pioneered through innovation, integrity, and excellence.
